Global umbrella organisation
for Liver Patient organisations
Patients always at the center
Who we are
Founded in 2019, Liver Patients International (LPI) is an umbrella organisation that supports and advocates for liver patients in both policy and operational contexts, promoting equal access to effective liver healthcare services. We have a growing membership of 15 established liver patient organisations reaching across the world from South America to Europe. LPI is overseen by a managing board whose members are each experienced representatives of patients’ organisations. Together, they bring expertise across a full range of liver diseases, organisational management, and governance.
What we do
We undertake activities to improve care and treatment for people who are affected by, or at the risk, of a liver condition. We work in a progressive and collaborative way, ensuring meaningful engagement and partnerships with other stakeholders. We strengthen the (member) patient organisations guidance in policy, advocay and coorperation with stakeholders to reach the goal together. We participate in project, scientific (EU) research programmes, and are involved in policy and advocacy groups. We do that with with expertise from all stakeholders, through coorporation, information sharing, and mutual support.
Become a member
Together we will be able to support, develop and lead increased patient support and advocacy, playing a crucial role in shaping the policy of global health strategies and initiatives through partnerships.
We are open to registered NGOs and charitable organisations, regardless of size, that work in the liver disease arena. We welcome liver patient organisations as members who want to make a difference for all that they support. But we also reach out to scientific, advocacy, and policy organisations, as well as pharmaceutical companies. LPI is open to strong collaboration with organisations that are not necessarily liver patient organisations but share our goals and ideals.
Membership fees are free.
